“I have not heard much about not playing in BPL. This is a matter concerning the two boards,” Razzaq said on Friday while attending a promotional programme arranged by KDS, one of the partners of the BPL franchise Duronto Rajshahi.
“We have no problem over getting here. But there is the tour to South Africa during the BPL. I hope everything will be made clear in the next three or four days,” Razzaq added.
Razzaq, who possibly may miss the tour because he has not been awarded a central contract, said, “I have sought a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the board. They said that my NOC from the board is not needed as I have no central contract and they suggested collecting one from a bank. I got one from the bank already.”
“But those who have central contract are bound to listen to the board. A few days earlier I got a show-cause notice for breaching the code of conduct and I had to pay a fine,” the experienced all-rounder added.
Although Razzaq declined to make any comment about Bangladesh’s cancelled tour to his country, he said: “There may be some agitation in the border areas but the cities are secure in Pakistan.”
